  1. After your original post, I looked up the price of the box and wondered if doing it yourself would be cheaper or not. So, this is an interesting challenge!

I have no idea why, but I really want to do this! It will be REALLY interesting to see how much this costs and what’s even available in a little Appalachian college town. Game on. Well, on payday. Which is Friday 😉

Ha! This is a great post. D2D Organics is going to love you! Anyway, forget how much stuff costs at WF. Let’s talk about something more pressing – how is the Vitamix?!? What have you made so far? Are you finding lots of good recipes??

Sonja, I left a message on Meg’s blog but I didn’t share the love with you, so… What an awesome blog post! I always knew that we beat the competition but, independent research? You’re the best!

After using a CSA share in northern NY, I am now in KC and using D2D. I LOVE it!! I had already done the math and knew it was cheaper, but something else I love about this company is the variety of produce they deliver (I got kiwi berries this summer… had never even heard of them before and they were a very tasty treat). I also love that they send me an e-mail on Friday telling me what to expect in my box and then let me swap the items with other similar items if I’m not a fan (there really is only so much one can do with kale and swiss chard). I HIGHLY recommend D2D. Now, if they’d only deliver to the entire continental US…?

This was tons of fun! Thanks for putting me up to it; I see a lot of smoothies and fun recipes in my future!

Well… $38 seems pretty awesome! I comparison shopped at 3 sites this side of the pond and got to $49.80, $40.87, $35.82… But these do not include delivery charges.

We get our first box tomorrow! We are very excited! I love fennel too, but have never really cooked with it. Can you send me some of your ideas or recipes on how to use this guy? Happy Holidays!

Now I really wish I could get your box every week!! Here are my results!

WOW. You are certainly getting a great deal with D2DO. This was a fun challenge and I think I am going to do Take2 at a different locale.

Very fun, thanks for the excuse to boost my fruit & veggie intake! I ended up halfway between you two at $45. Check out my post here:

I’m posting all my creations to my blog… hoping everyone else shares their recipes as well. Would be fun to see what can be made from this box of goodness!

We love our Door to Door box! We’ve been doing it for probably about 9 months or so. I want to try and be better in the New Year about not subbing stuff out and finding a way to use whatever they want to send me. (Hard though when hubby is out of town so much – I don’t as much effort into cooking when it’s just me and the kiddo)
