Thanks for stopping by to visit! I started blogging in 2006 shortly after I had my daughter Annabelle (Annie). My mommy blog turned into a triathlon blog over the years as I lost the weight I gained when I was pregnant, found the sport of triathlon, competed in my first race in 2007, competed in my first Ironman in 2009, qualified for Kona in 2010, and spent 5 years chasing the top spot on the Kona podium (2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 -2nd-so close!). From ultra marathons (100 miler in 2010), to sub 10 hour Ironmans (Kona 2013, Brazil 2013, Arizona 2013), and taking the top spot at Ironman Lake Tahoe (2015), the adventures have been epic. Sometimes on the top of the podium, and sometimes in the med tent, I’ve dragged this blog along for the journey.
I love adventure, far from the results, I seek new, exciting, thrilling experiences. I chase my personal limits, sometimes foolishly, and sometimes with a broken heart. I’m not afraid to talk about shitting yourself in an Ironman, falling flat on your face, or the work it takes to get to the top. I am primarily a positive person, and slant towards the philosophical most the time. The best races I have had were truly spiritual experiences, where I got out of my own way, and let the universe reveal what it had up it’s sleeve.
After five years of coaching athletes, in 2015 I launched my “official” coaching company, Rising Tide Triathlon Coaching (RTTC). With an ample amount of #fun2fast, we are a group of women coaches determined to teach a safe and balanced triathlon approach focused on understanding and challenging the athlete with a “whole-health” philosophy. We specialize in knowing our athletes inside and out, and we aim to educate athletes to make great decisions in the heat of battle.
With RTTC going strong leading into 2016, I’m back on the race scene with some epic adventures on the schedule. I hope to run into you at the races! Thanks for visiting!
